Description | US feature about the history of food preservation. Beginning in France in 1795, Napoleon is having trouble with his soldiers dying due to the poor food quality. He must come up with a way of preserving food well and he offers a reward to the man who knows of the best way. Through history, different scientists and inventors work to solve this problem. Historical characters featured in the film include Napoleon Bonaparte, Nicolas Appert, Peter Durand, Louis Pasteur, Robert Anderson, Henry J. Heinz and Theodore Roosevelt. The cast includes several popular 1930s Hollywood actors. |
